Arusha National Park is a small (137 sq km) but beautiful park close to the famous ‘safari town’ of Arusha (29 km) and Kilimanjaro International Airport which makes it ideal for day safaris. It's small yet beautiful. With an abundance of wildlife for a park of this size, Arusha offers the opportunity to explore a large diversity of habitats and invites visitors to enjoy the tranquility of its multi-coloured lakes.
The best time to visit:
June to October (dry season)
+ Sightings of wildlife more likely in the shorter grass and around watering holes.

+ Beautiful, sunny days with very little rain.

+ Fewer mosquitoes result in lower risk of malaria.

- Mornings and nights can be cold.
November to May (wet season)
+ Luscious green landscapes.

+ Clear views of Kilimanjaro and Meru more likely from December to February.

+ April and May is low season, the region is much quieter during this period.

+ Arusha National Park offers unrivalled wildlife viewing opportunities all year round.

+ Excellent time of year for birdwatchers due to the presence of migratory birds.

- Roads more difficult to navigate during the wet season.
​
- Peak wet season is March to May with heavy downpours frequent.
